Instructing at Byte Back

Adult low-income residents of the District of Columbia and Maryland do not have sufficient resources for competitive workforce entry training to meet the growing number of jobs requiring digital technology skills. We are working to change that.

As an instructor with Byte Back, Inc., a non-profit DC-based organization that has taken a leading voice in advancing digital and racial equity, humble1, LLC has taught 4, 6, and 8-week foundational computer and software application classes, including Introduction to the Computer, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and related Internet and technology devices training for adult low-income residents in DC-designated community accessible facilities, that provided pathways to new careers with sound digital training and hands-on practice.

“The computer foundations class has opened up so much for me that I did not remember, forgot or glossed over in the past .  . . .  I have never been in a class where you get to learn the technical names of the computer.  I have been taught to sit down and do the work . . . . internet safety has helped me.  I now do not shop unless I have a gift card and I do not put my information on the internet . . . . I was overjoyed when I learned how to paste to the desktop and send it back to you . . .  I know why I have so many files all over the place because I have not organized them and put them in folders.”
