Northern Virginia Juvenile Detention Center

I truly appreciate your professionalism and support to our community”

Phyllis Lacy | CEO/President, Quantom Studios Institute for Technology

The juvenile residents of the Northern Virginia Juvenile Detention Center (NVJDC) in Alexandria, VA had no preparation for how to responsibly prepare for the workforce nor handle their financial matters upon release during their final weeks of stay in 2021.

On behalf of the Northern Virginia Juvenile Detention Center (NVJDC), in collaboration with the Quantom Studios Institute for Technology (QSIT), humble1, LLC created and taught a 4-week, in-person, culturally relevant workforce readiness and financial literacy curriculum for the residents preparing for release and/or transfer in 2021.  humble1 created and delivered an 8-week demonstration, pilot STEAM-oriented career readiness program to 15+ residents of the NVJDC in 2017.
